L-House Update: 27

 An L-House Update...

1. 27s.  And, therefore the fact that this is the twenty-seventh L-House Update.

2. This is fun.  I was something to do with bohemian/chic, I think?

3. The Sleepless in Seattle soundtrack.

4. Lauren and Bogie.

5. I'm going to try to make this soon...

6 .  The orange-yellow-red leaves all swept up with the rain in blue evening.

7. Planning a Halloween costume.  Way too early.  (Well, let's be real.  It's never too early.)

8. O Captain! My Captain!

9. APPLEFEST!  Perhaps the most fabulous of things that Ithaca has to offer.  (There were fewer people than usual today in my writing class, and one kid said, "Oh I wonder if it's because of that holiday...?"  And I say, "applefest?!!"  No.  Rosh Hashanah.  Yeah...)

10.  And, of course, the fantastic people who are coming up here this weekend for said fabulous-ness!  So looking forward to a multitude of conversations over hot cider and apple fritters.  (And apple pie and apple sauce and cider donuts and roast corn and caramel apples and....)

Autumnal

Fall is upon us!  I am a very seasonal person.  Meaning, I strongly associate certain movies, books, and music with certain times of the year.  The following is a list of some of my absolutely favorite fall things.  So, grab a sweater and a mug of hot cider and take a look...

L-House Update: 26

An L-House Update...

2. I secretly want a pair of Doc Martens...

3. "A 2002 survey showed the average American will have eaten 1,500 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches before graduating high school."

4. My friend Amanda wants to make these.  Isn't it a cool idea?

5. To Sir with Love.  I'm in a sixties kinda mood.

6. Sweaters.  It's getting to be that time of year again... (It was in the fifties today!!)

7. Pretty stationery.  Really.
Nice cotton paper with your name embossed at the top is one of the nicest things...

8. I've been re-watching bits of Mad Men.  (I never finished.)  I don't think there was every a more aesthetically pleasing television show ever. Or a more bad ass opening title.  (Well, I guess Perry Mason would be a contender...)  You are so suave Donald Draper.  So suave.

9. Tartine Bread.  Looks. so. good.

10. I woke up this morning feelin fierce.  And it was great.

A tune for the road...

Have a lovely weekend, m.

Let it Die

A song by Leslie Feist.  It's been rattling around in my head for the past few days.  A good goin-into-fall type of tune.  Lord I forgot how much I love that album.

Enjoy.

L-House Update: 25

An L-House Update...

1. I was bad and bought a coat.
(Or two...)
2. "I felt like lying down by the side of the trail and remembering it all. The woods do that to you, they always look familiar, long lost, like the face of a long-dead relative, like an old dream, like a piece of forgotten song drifting across the water, most of all like golden eternities of past childhood or past manhood and all the living and the dying and the heartbreak that went on a million years ago and the clouds as they pass overhead seem to testify (by their own lonesome familiarity) to this feeling."
 -Jack Kerouac

4. Back to school clothes.
(I know that girl and her stylist...)

5. This gave me a chuckle...

6.  Aren't these shoes great?  I love the two tone flats.

7. Enjoying this moment sitting here essentially doing nothing.
Before the storm hits.

8. KitchenAids.
I realize this is more random than usual, but they are super fabulous and there's no gettin around it.

9.  Just started watching Jekyll.  Very cool.  The character change is magnificent!  And, it's a very interesting take to the story.

10. And, a very happy birthday to the best dad ever.
